As
Policy and Regulatory Affairs Director, Florian Damas is responsible for the development
of corporate positions on key regulatory and thought-leadership issues for
Nokia on the following topics:
[TELECOMS
and SERVICES]
from
infrastructures (broadband access, IP, interconnection, virtualization) to
cloud, software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization
(NFV), investment policies and funds, public policies, competition, net
neutrality, cybersecurity;
[DATA]
electronic
identities, data values and monetization, data protection, electronic
communications data (metadata and content), privacy, connected devices (IoT), Industry
4.0, smart cities, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data
analytics.
He
advises regulators and competition authorities to ensure infrastructure
interoperability and competition. He engages with governments in supporting
national broadband plans and reaping the maximum economic and societal benefit
from ICT.
Before
joining Nokia, he worked for several telecommunications providers including MCI
Worldcom (now Verizon) and COLT Telecom, and the equipment vendor
Alcatel-Lucent.
He
is personally involved during his free time in helping a non-for-profit
organisation to provide online courses using open source software over fiber
access. |
